This is EP #43 with Ian McIntosh and Me. I first met Ian when I was the athlete manager for Whistler Blackcomb back around 2007 when the ski industry was in its prime. 
Ian is a professional big mountain skier and has been sliding on two sticks since he was 2.  His ski career has taken him to the Freeride World Tour and made him a staple in the Teton Gravity Research (TGR) film family for more than a decade. He still travels to ski and film, but now balances his ski life with his growing family and stacking his guiding certs to plan for the future. I
It was great to connect with Ian again and chat skiing, health, nutrition, aliens, being a dad and other stuff we will need to finish next time! Thanks for taking the time to join me on the show, Ian! Really great to catch up.

Whistler's Casual Pizza Battle Royale with Myself and Ty Clevette (Round 1)

Pizza is a big deal in Whistler and the discussion about which pizza joint has best pie is always up for debate. Thankfully myself and Tyler decided to provide our professional pizza opinion to help clear the air.
We chose basic pepperoni from 4 of Whistler Take-out/Delivery pie shops: Fat Tony's, Misty Mountain, Functional Pie and Avalanche. (Dominos is in a class of it's own) You'll have to listen to find out the results of round 1. Stay tuned for more rounds and more food.

This is Kyle Black and this is EP #42.
I've known Kyle for a few years now, we met while working at Lululemon. We both lasted about a year there. Kyle has been in Whistler like 10 years I think and he currently manages a legendary snowboard shop here in Whistler, Showcase Snowboards. We have a great talk about things we learned in retrospect from past jobs, we talk about brands, aliens, Kyle's road to Whistler, how we both went to the same collage, his semi recent diagnosis with Crohn's disease and his ongoing management of it, we also compare our appendicitis stories and a bunch more. Really fun chat and I look forward to having Kyle on the show again. Thanks for the time, Kyle!

EP #41 and Tyler C. is back for a fourth time?  I can't remember.  Don't let the intro fool you, the audio is fine. Just a little peep into the BTS of this giant media corp.
We talk about Tyler lending me his XBOX One which leads us into gaming for a bit, then we talk about quicksand, Alien motives, the difference between saying you are on Holiday and Vacation, selling cars, german actors, when is haggling appropriate, horrible highway construction, flipping your friends off after they wave to you, not recognizing people fast enough, and bunch more stuff.

Kristian and I met a few years ago while I was running a shop in Whistler for a yoga brand.  He is an endurance athlete, high performance coach, entrepeneur and he and his wife host of the Endurance Specific podcast based in Whistler. Kristian is originally from Australia and had spent years as a snowboard athlete before finally moving here full time. We talk about how he came to live in Whistler, "Everesting", snowboarding, health and conditioning, coaching, hunting and a bunch of other stuff that is worth listening to. Mark Abma = EP #38. I am going to assume if you are skier who follows skiing,  you know who Mark is, but just in case..  Mark is a professional skier and entrepreneur and seems to love being outside more than inside. His segment in MSP Seven Sunny Days (TV On Radio - Wolf Like Me song) from 2007 is for sure in my top 5 favourite seggies ever! That movie was also the first time I got to work with Mark. He was one of the first I heard of to convert cooking oil into fuel for his "monster" truck. We talk a little about skiing, but Mark fills me in on his personal wellness and health focus as well has his new project on Gambier Island with longtime friend Chris Turpin. We also talk about travel, his winter plans and as usual other stuff I forget about. It was a great chat and I think I'll be buying a brain wave headband soon, as well as a bidet.

Eric Berger rings in from Gambier Island for EP #37.(Skype) Eric is a professional photographer hailing from Quebec and now lives between Whistler, Gambier Island and his VW camper van. He came to Whistler about 35 years ago and I've known him fo 13 years or something like that. We talk about skiing, photography, his Gambier Island retreat, BBQ'ing, his VW Van and probably some other stuff. It was great to catch up and the audio/video is way better other the random beeping that turned out to be my dishwasher and the cabin ambiance of the crackling fire. Great to chat with you, Eric! Casual with Ryan Proctor Featuring Smiley Nesbitt #36

On the line with EP #36 and Smiley Nesbitt. Smiley is currently a realtor in Vancouver, but before that he was a few things including pro skier and could sink a turn better than most. Still can, I am sure. If you are from anywhere in Quebec, you probably have good style and as you can tell in this video his style followed him out west. He's one of the first pro's I met when I landed my first gig in the industry. I looked up to his rebelliousness and humour toward, well, most things and was excited to have him on the show. Anyway, he's a friendly dude and conversationalist, which that's perfect for a podcast like this. Casual With Ryan Proctor Featuring Tristan Merrick #35

Been a while, eh?  This is EP #35 with Tristan Merrick.  Tristan and I met like 15 years ago while working for Whistler Blackcomb.  Over the years we worked more closely during our time with the iconic Crankworx mountain bike festival in Whistler where Tristan was an athlete turned announcer. His career has taken him around the globe announcing action sports events from mountain biking, to motocross, to trophy trucks, etc... He is now a local freelance producer working at a pretty well known yoga brand based in Vancouver. And, he is fresh into dad life.  Weak internet, odd audio, but a really good chat!  Hope you enjoy!
